Unfolding Wildflowers

PickingWildflowersGraphic

Hi all, and welcome to Day 1 of Flourishes fabulous sneak peeks and PLUS you'll get an opportunity to WIN our entire new June release just by playing along!  For the remainder of this week we will be sharing our newest stamp sets with you!  Aren't you excited?!  I know I am :)

Since Sneak Peek Day 1 overlaps with the Timeless Tuesday Challenge, we have some amazing projects showcasing our newest beautiful floral stamp set by Marcella Hawley today... This stunning new stamp set features a glorious spray of wildflowers along with some wonderfully heartfelt sentiments.  It will be a 'must-have' on your shopping list this week!

For this challenge, create a card or project that moves or opens in a non-traditional manner (FTTC224)!  In other words, create a card that doesn't just open normally.  Maybe it has a third panel like a tri-fold card or it has a greeting tag that pops up when you pull a ribbon! There are lots of fun tutorials you can try out and you can see today's post on the Flourishes Blog for lots of links and ideas.

I've been seeing so many of these cascading fold cards around that I thought I'd give one a try.  I began by using a Silhouette Cut file to create the card base on Color Made Easy Pistachio Cardstock - which made everything really easy to put together, especially because it includes all the panel pieces.  Then I stamped the pretty Picking Wildflowers stamp onto Flourishes Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut it out with our Perfectly Pierced Classic Windows Die, then coloured with Copics.   And finishing details include lace, seam binding and pearls.

I stamped a few extra pieces for the poppies and the butterfly so I could pop up those pieces on the design, which works especially great for a extended fold design like this.

You can see that I also stamped the wildflower image on the white panel layer with Teal Zeal Memento ink.  And then the little front sentiment cut out with our Perfectly Pierced Hourglass Die.

And here's how I attached  the front Classic Window panel to the front of the card, just a strip of cardstock folded every 1/4 inch and attached to both pieces.  This way it has some "give" for when you close or open the card and stays out front.

Today we have both our Flourishes Finest Design Team AND our Friends of Flourishes Team sharing their "Open Sesame" inspirations with you!  Take a moment and leave some love on all of our designers' blogs.
Come and hop along and visit with all of our super talented designers and join us in our challenge this week for a chance at winning our ENTIRE new June release!!  Yup... that's right... you could win our entire new release just by playing along.
