Welcome to day 1 of Flourishes' Release Week fun! Today, we have a bouquet that is ripe for the picking and these flowers have a bit of a spring flair! Are you ready for the first peek? I know you're going to love....
I decided to go a little vintage-old world feel with this pretty single tulip bloom. The Silhouette Cut File that will be available with this set is perfect for this beautiful effect. One of my best friends from college loves purple tulips, so I was thinking of her when I made this. I surrounded the bloom by lots of cream and texture, Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, the Perfectly Pierced Hourglass Die, Spellbinders Exquisite Circles die, Fireflies Embossing folder, and some gorgeous velvet and lace (this link in white - out of stock at the moment in cream). In real life, these purple colours match a little more closely.
I wanted to do something a little more soft and dreamy for the sentiment, so I inked the words in VersaMark ink, embossed with clear embossing powder and then used an Aqua Marker in purple (on sale :) and watercolored around the sentiment to take advantage of the resist technique. Such a lovely sentiment don't you think? Here's the Copic's I used.
