CardMaps with Becky Fleck

Welcome to our first Power & Spark Challenge with Power Poppy for 2018!  This month Julie is our hostess and the Bloom Brigade along with some of our friends, the Instant Gardeners have teamed up with the amazing Becky Fleck of PageMaps & CardMaps to show off 10 of her newest sketches.  Play along with any of the sketches and you could win! More info on this at the bottom of the post.

As I mentioned earlier this week, I’m on a decidedly SPRING theme this month, so I pulled out Power Poppy’s set Natural Beauties because it just sings Spring!  I stamped the row of spring flowers (daffodils, primrose and tulips, then added one of the single stamps of lily of the valley in the row to fill out the row.  I stamped a second set of tulips and after colouring it all up with Copics, trimmed them out to create the focal point on some vellum.  This was you still get a peek at the pretty flowers behind the translucence of the vellum.

Here’s what the sketch looks like.

I’ve added some embroidery floss behind the tulips, a few enamel dots and a pretty scrolled border to finish it off.  I just love the bursts of colour!

So here’s the challenge details:

For this month's Power & Spark Challenge, we're asking you to "Grab A Map," and get in on some Power Poppy Fun! What a creative use of this sketch! I love how you found a way to work in plenty of coloring using this pretty PP set. The extra tulips on vellum is a brilliant idea! Pretty patterned paper. Just beautiful, Christine! I'm off to see all the rest, now. Happy new year!

Christine, your creative take on this sketch is just breathtaking!! I love how you isolated one flower on the vellum with the cording behind. And your blue just sets everything off so well! Wishing you blessings in the New Year!
