Birthday Bunny

I’m back today with a brand new challenge at A Day for Daisies!   It’s one that anyone can play with, because it’s Anything Goes!

Today I’m play with the adorable Bunnies in Blossom - Bunny in a Rose.

There’s just something about this image that’s so sweet and delicate, so I kept the tones soft on the colouring, and I love the look of peach roses.  Then, because of the delicate feel to the bunny in the rose I decided to add some embossing paste through the Tim Holtz Gothic stencil on this peach paper.   Boy it looks pretty in person.  That texture comes out beautifully.    Behind the bunny is a vellum layer cut through a die and then a touch of lace along the edge and some green seambinding along the bottom to sort of fill in with the sense of greenery in the rose.

Because bunnies don’t just have to be for Easter, the embossed birthday sentiment is from Power Poppy’s Dynamic Duos - Tulips and Peonies.  To finish it off I added a few white pearls.

Here’s the Copics I used for colouring.

And now....the ADFD Team in action!

Your card and image is so adorable. Any color rose would have been just as beautiful, but I do love your color choice.

Oh my gosh Christine, this is simply gorgeous, what an amazing card!!! I love the embossed background, the Vellum die cut and the colors you chose but, this little bunny peeking inside this lovely rose is the star of this card.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Hello sweet bunny! Christine, you wouldn't believe who is building their nest in my floral wreath on the front door - Mrs. Robin. I'm flattered she likes it although I think she would be better off making her nest in the tree. I also remember finding several baby bunnies in my garden when their mother made a nest under the leaves of my Japanese Azalea's.

A lovely springtime card today!

Love all the soft details on this card. That embossing paste looks wonderful! I really must purchase some and try it. I have a few stencils, but I've never used the paste with them. Thanks for so much wonderful inspiration on your blog!
