Interruptions and Ornaments

Hello friends.

I’ve had a little interruption in life....

My husband and I were off to Vancouver Island last weekend to celebrate my birthday and our 20th Wedding Annivesary (from this past summer).  We were hiking along the beach and had to jump a stream to go further on our hike.  The stream was wide and I didn’t land well.  I limped around the next 4 days until we could get home, to find out that I had broken my fibula, it has a crack up by my knee.  This lovely DonJoy brace and crutches are my new companions for the next six weeks while it heals :(  And, right now it sure hurts!

While now I have a lot more uninterrupted time on my hands, I don’t have much mobility.  I hope to have more space for colouring, but my cards will probably have more of a simple CAS feel just because of how hard it is to be getting around and carting supplies.  I wish I had a secret for that!   So I hope you still enjoy what I come up with in the next few weeks!

Today the Bloom Brigade is gathering to show off more snazzy designs and here is mine today.

How gorgeous is this bough and ornaments? It’s from the new set Bough Wow Wow, and it is fantastic!  I had so much fun putting my leg up and colouring to match these fun older papers from my stash, Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses.

As you can see I’ve added some glitter pen to the ornaments and sentiment as well as a little ruffled seam binding, twine and rhinestones.

(Copics used:  BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, YG21, YG25, YG63, YG67, G99, RV00, RV11, RV13, R85 , R89).

Be sure to pop by the Power Poppy Blog to jump in on the Power Poppy Peep of the Week contest.  We’re seeing such great entries!  It’s so fun to see you using your beautiful Power Poppy goodies!

Here’s the Bloom Brigade playing today.

Oh Christine, I'm so sorry you broke your leg, my dear. How in the world were you able to hop around with a cracked bone??!!! That must have been hurting so badly. Well, that brace doesn't look nice at all but it's better than a solid cast, at least you can take it off for a quick shower or if your leg itches, sheeesh!!
Well, this stamp set is the one I want to order next week, I just love this Bough and Ornaments, so very lovely just like your card, the colors of the ornaments make them come alive.
Thank you for sharing and I'm sending lots and lots of healing ~~~~~~~~~~ your way and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Many paper hugs.
Maria.

So sorry to hear of your accident, however if it means more exciting designs from you that is a plus.

Keep pleasant thoughts while healing and enjoy your family helping you out.

First of all, sorry to hear about your injury - sounds so painful! Rest and recover. Next - that card is so beautiful! I think we'll like what you come up with while you recuperate just fine. :)

How awful esp this time of year.

One suggestion might be to get a chair on wheels and load some supplies on it.

Hope you recover fast!

hugs

Oh you poor thing. Let us hope that you heal quickly and with a minimum of pain.
You need to get yourself one of those three tier carts from IKEA which are on wheels. Load up your goodies and you can wheel to whereever you need to sit for comfort. I love the colours you chose and how bright and vibrant your card is. Thanks for sharing, especially in such a bad moment. Cheers.

Sweet Christine, I'm so very sorry you had this accident. What a way to experience a Birthday and Anniversary. I am praying you will heal well and soon and that patience becomes you for now. I'm sure we will all enjoy whatever CAS shares you want to create, but most of all, take care of yourself.

Look at your poor little piggies peeking out of that massive brace! OH MY! So sorry you are uncomfortable -- no FUN! At least you can put your feet up and color. This is sure a beauty and I just keep staring at your ornaments -- OH MY -- they truly look light reflective with the different accents of colors -- incredible. Nothing can slow your creativity down girl! :-) BIG HUGS!

Oh Christine, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope the pain frees up soon, and on your way to a speedy recovery. Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love your layout and those colours are so pretty. Your finishing touches with the ribbon, twine and rhinestones finish this off nicely.

Poor Christine! I can see how that massive brace could slow you down, not to mention the pain with moving around. I'm so sorry! Consider this as a chance to rest and enjoy some quality coloring time. I must say, your card doesn't look like it was made with a handicap! Nothing can hinder your coloring skills, and I love the card design as much as the coloring!

Oh, Christine!! I am so sorry to see that massive brace and can only imagine the pain! Our sweet friend Chris Olsen (glowbug) had a very bad accident as well about six months ago, so she can sure help you with suggestions about getting around and working while being laid up! Oh, I'm praying for you, sweet friend, and praying that the pain will ease and that you will heal well and quickly. Your card is absolutely stunning (as always), and your coloring is exquisite. I agree with Julie that your ornament just look so reflective!! Rest, sweet friend! And I'll be praying for you! Tender hugs!

I am so sorry to hear of your injury...you must be very brave to tolerate that for four days! My husband is in a boot due to ankle surgery and Beulah had surgery today, too. I hope it's not contagious! I think this card is gorgeous...love the colors and beautiful coloring!! Your creations are always lovely, whether ornate or more simplified, your beauty shines through.

Gentle hugs to you Christine! Get well! This certainly doesn't have a CAS feel to it to me - it's so beautiful! Your coloring is always amazing and the bling is perfect! ♥
