Fuzzy Mittens

My middle son has started the Christmas countdown app on his phone, so I know that Christmas is quickly approaching.  Today for my Power Poppy design, I thought I’d show off a tag I made for decorating a package, when there is actual Christmas shopping done :)   This year I’m thinking it will be all online shopping as I’m not up to a mall with crutches and a big brace.   Yep, that’s a definite no thank you.

It starts with the adorable Merry Littles set, stamping them on Cougar Opaque Cream cardstock and colouring them up with Copics, and sponging the outside with Ranger Tea Dye ink to warm it up and make it cozy.

I thought felt would be perfect for this design so I framed out the circle with Spellbinders Hearts Circle die in red and a pretty banner in green felt.  Then I added the tiny little hearts from the die as accent on the green banner.

Here’s a closer pic of the colouring and the sentiment.  Don’t those mittens look cozy?  I added some pom poms from the new Bow Wow Wow set too.  On the background of the manilla tag I sponged Tea Dye ink with a Tim Holtz stencil (Burlap), and then stamped some cute litlte pom poms on the tag too.

For the top of the tag I cut a long strip of felt, sliced a little notch into the upper middle of the felt with my scissors and then looped the end through, adding a button and twine to finish it off.  I like the clean finish of it.

Here’s the Bloom Brigade playing along today...

Love it! The felt just makes it! Nice coloring too, btw. I'm never up for mall shopping - crutches and brace or no. :)

Ohhh Christine, you really gussied up those Merry Littles — they feel so pampered with all the woodsy felt touches and hearts and pompoms! Love the repetition of the circular elements... NICE, subtle coherent... and cozyily cool all around! I am just soooo sorry that you are injured, my dear! I'm sending good vibes to you for a speedier-than-they-told-you recovery!! xoxo, marcy

This is beautiful Christine. I love the way you added the felt. I find I save money if I shop online. I am easily enticed at the stores. Praying for a quick recovery.
