Peace, Poinsettias & Stockings

Good Friday to all of you out there!  Anyone else feel like this week went way too fast?  We had Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday and I’ve been lost on days ever since!

Today at Power Poppy the Bloom Brigade is bringing you our Friday round of gorgeous inspiration.  I decided I wanted to play with some of images I haven’t had a chance to ink yet.  This lovely stocking full of Christmas goodies is so classy don’t you think?  It’s with our new Poinsettia set.  I’m a big fan of burgundies at Christmas it they pair so nicely with cream that that was the direction I went for this design.

I inked up the stocking onto Cougar Opaque Cream cardstock and coloured with Copics.  The sketch is a lovely one perfect for the CAS style from Karen Giron’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

I embossed the background layer with an older SU poinsettia folder and then added the burgundy strips behind the image.  I thought it would be fun to have one of the strips go through the front of the  main circle so I cut a slit through with a craft knife and slid the sentiment through.

For accent I added some pretty cream sequins.  I like how dainty they look.

And here’s the simple inside with a Merry Christmas greeting!

Above are the Copics I used.

And now you can head over to these lovely ladies’ blogs to see what they have to show off today.

Oh Christine, I love, love, love the deep reds you used on this creation. It's just so lovely against that soft ivory! You always know exactly how to embellish too-- making those pearly cream sequins a perfect addition! Love this girl!

Oh, Christine! Your coloring is exquisite! It's so rich and has so much depth! And against the beautifully embossed background and using Karen's wonderful sketch (yes, I love her CAS sketches and need to try some), it's gorgeous! Totally in love with it! (Is this embossing folder still available? I love it!) Hugs, sweet friend!
