Happiest Holiday Hop!

Welcome to the Happiest Holiday Blog Hop from Power Poppy!

We’re delighted you joined us today to welcome these beautiful new sets into the Power Poppy family, and hopefully into your home for Christmas and Holiday creating!  Hasn’t it been fantastic?!

Today I wanted to work with the beautiful Poinsettia set again.  When I saw the graphic Marcella had created for this set, I was really taken with the colours she washed into it.  I loved the limey green and orange in the illustration and thought it would be fun to play with these non-traditional colours for the set today.  I also thought that embossing and colouring on vellum would have a neat effect with the set too.  So, it’s stamped in white craft ink and embossed on cardstock vellum, then cut out and coloured on the back side with Copics.  It gives it a really fun whimsical effect!

I placed two layers of vellum poinsettia together, with just the inner petals done with the second layer.  Then I added it on top of a white layer that I embossed with a poinsettia and pine embossing folder.  It almost fills in the arrangement and lets the colouring stand out too.

I love the dreamy effect of the vellum!  I’ve added rhinestones in the center (which also hide the foam dot) and some satin finish cotton ribbon, hat pins, and designer paper from Lawn Fawn - a summer pack called Pink Lemonade.

The bottom scallops are made with a Spellbinders die - A2 Scalloped Borders One.

Here’s the inside of the design stamped in Memento Pear Tart with a little ribbon peeking out.

Here’s the Copics...it’s so citrusy!  :)

Here’s the Bloom Brigade ready to show you some fantastic things!
