Eat Your Veggies! Power Poppy Hop!

Hello!  Happy Friday and welcome to the Power Poppy Share Your Sunshine August Blog Hop!  It’s been a fabulous week of previews and we’re thrilled to show off one more round of beauties with these sets that are now available!

I chose to show off this card with our new Farmers Market set.

I’ll tell you a fun story about who this card went to.  I work with one of our good friends in youth ministry.  He’s either been our intern or on staff with me for 8 of the last 9 1/2 years.  He’s like a part of our family after all this time.  He is also notorious for disliking vegetables, and I’m always on his case for trying something healthy or ensuring he expands his diet beyond meat, potatoes and coca-cola, and reminding him to take better care of himself.

So when I was writing notes to my husband and daughter that would be opened while they were in Mexico City these past 2 weeks, I snuck this one in for him too.  I couldn’t resist.  My husband said he laughed too :)  Mission accomplished.

I stamped the cauliflower basket and black board with Memento Tuxedo Black onto XPress It Blending cardstock and coloured with Copics (sorry I forgot to take a picture of the Copics I used, but I’m guessing E50, E51, E53, E55, and then G40, G20, G43, G46 and YG0000 and YG00.

I popped it up onto a Spellbinders shape, added some “picket fence” cardstock that I had embossed through a woodgrain folder, and some peeling paint dp, then added twine and buttons, keeping it clean and more masculine.

Now I invite you to head on over to the rest of the Bloom Brigade to see what they have to share from the release on the Hop....then head right on over to the Power Poppy Store and snap these Summer Sunshine sets up before they’re gone!

Thanks for sharing a great week with us!

Great combo of elements! I love veggies but not so much cauliflower. But I'll eat if it is on the menu.

Christine....this is darling! I am a huge veggie lover...I have to admit though that cauliflower is not high on the list...but your card makes me want to dig right in! Of course your Copic coloring is awesome, and I love this sweet layout making these veggies the star of the show! :)

I've fallen behind in my commenting, Christine. Sorry! I have loved this card from the start. So adorable and fun with the image, colors, and fencing design. The woodgrain texture is fabulous. Cute story, too! I'll bet he got a real kick out of it. You are so thoughtful!
