Chocolate Cupcakes

We just returned from a few days away visiting my husband’s parents in small town ND.  Though the trip takes us 16 hours each way, and we only stayed 4 days there, it was still good to see them and spend some quiet time in small town America.  So, now I’ve been catching up a little on all those things you return to after a trip, but today I thought I’d do something fun with a new image I got from My Favourite Things last week.

It’s called Sweet Birthday Wishes and I used this week’s MFT Sketch.

She’s so cute isn’t she?  I love her little dress, and she is absolutely ready for the party.   I’m very drawn to orange lately, so here she is in chocolate and orange.  And, if it’s a cupcake for me - I will always choose chocolate first :)  This cupcake has chocolate chips in the icing too!

Keeping with that polka-dotted chocolate chip theme, I’ve added polka dot embossing to the vertical panel (flipping the sketch) after stamping it with orange cupcakes, and also punching the edge with a eyelet scallop edge.

The only thing I didn’t do with the sketch was those two stitches...it just wouldn’t work with where I was going.

Here’s the inside of the design stamped with Memento Tangelo.

Here’s the Copics I used, as I was colouring while we were gone I didn’t take a pic of them.

See you Friday for some fun with Power Poppy!

She is just the cutest, I love this color combo and I like the use of the lace and die together. I know what you mean by the long trips to see family, glad you had a good time!

Oh, she's darling, but the way you've colored her is super divine! Great job on the hair. Love the rich orange and brown. Got that fall look but still fun and cute. Of course, how could it not be cute with this adorable little girl?

Congratulations on your challenge win! I love the "patterned paper" you created by stamping the large cupcake on Swiss Dot embossed cardstock... it's like you gave them "sprinkles," by adding that texture to the paper. :) Great idea!
