Soothing Lavender

Welcome to Friday!  We’re back at Power Poppy with another week of inspiration!  This week it’s another “Anything Goes” challenge - where you can use anything Power Poppy has to offer to create.

It’s always fun to have the freedom to go any direction you’d like to go...so I was in the mood for something soothing and sweet.

I pulled out the gorgeous Lavender Stamp Set for this design.  I stamped the sprigs onto XPress It Cardstock, colouring with Copics and then trimming it out carefully with a border.  Then I created a windowed design in cardstock with a Silhouette die.  Then I used a Tim Holtz Stencil (Bubble) and embossing Paste to create the texture.  After that dried, I sponged SU Pool Party ink onto the paper and then because I wanted to also create some splattery shimmer I added some Mr. Huey’s Spritz overtop.  I really couldn’t decide which view I liked better so you get a few looks at the card.

You can see that on the inset sentiment layer I embossed circles with the TCP Dots die.

Baker’s Twine and sequins are the accents keeping in that clean design.

Here’s the inside of the card...also simple.  But it goes with that clean lavender theme.

Were you the Power Poppy Peep of the Week last week?  Be sure to check out this post.  And then join us in the Anything Goes challenge so that next week it can be you!

When I draw the illustrations for these sets, I can only wonder at what the future holds for them. Boy, have you taken these lavender sprigs to a very lovely, peaceful place. I just love this card with it's soft seafoamy colors and the gentle rippled texture. Even the pops of bright purple are like magical bubbles. Oooooh Christine!
