O Happy Day

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends.  We’ve got something REALLY fun at Power Poppy today for you!  It involves a challenge ....AND free digis!  Yes FREE, keep reading!

First the challenge is to create something with Power Poppy images that represents the colours of YOUR country.  Since I am Canadian and our special celebration was on July 1, here we go!

Canadian colours are red and white...so I know this is MOSTLY patriotic with some touches of other colours :)  I used our new digi, Arranging Roses printing it on XPress It white cardstock.  I’ve designed this one to be a wedding card.  It’s a pretty special occasion.  We’re marrying a couple this weekend who is the son of the Pastor I worked for at my first Church in the US after graduating with my Master’s Degree from Seminary.  They were like family to me, so I have known the groom since he was 3 years old.  As a little boy he used to run down the hallway for me to hug him.  Even at 3 years old he was so strong he would knock me over.  I have many good memories with their family.   So, to be a part of this wedding is really special.

I coloured up the image with Copics adding a “doily” under the image with a Copic Multiliner to ground the image.  It also goes with the lacy feeling of the Spellbinders Dies I used.  The papers are MME - Summer Fresh Simple Stories.

The sentiment is from another Power Poppy Polymer Set, Dynamic Duos Peonies and Tulips because it worked well for the special event.

Here is the inside - also stamped with the Dynamic Duos set.

Now for the fun news....on the Power Poppy Blog you’ll find out how to play along to win, and how to download the free Patriotic digis Marcy is offering for the challenge, and see what she and her kids created too!  :)

Here’s the rest of the Bloom Brigade playing along today...

Oh, Christine, this is gorgeous! I love your coloring and the beautiful layout! And I especially love how you've grounded your vase and doodled a lovely lace doily! Stunning, sweet friend, and what a precious card for some very special people! What a blessing! Happy Fourth and have a wonderful wedding! Hugs!

Positively delightful - sunny and sweet and O-Canada-colors galore! I too love how you drew the doily freehand, what a sweet detail to go with your frame and the ruffly rose petal edges. Enjoy the wedding, what a wonderful story you shared!
