Golden Azaleas

Hello and happy Friday friends!  It’s been a really hectic week for our family as we’ve had VBS all week and all three kids were helping, we’re also getting ready to send our HS Youth Group to our bi-annual Mission Trip to Mexico City.  There are 22 going this year and there’s just SO much to prepare.  It’s the 5th trip we’ve taken there and the team is so excited to see our Mexican Family that we love so much, and to lead 2 different VBS’s there in two locations.

I think Vacation Bible School is one of my favourite weeks of the Church year, I absolutely love seeing the joy of children, their beautiful way of breaking down any barrier and how much they love to learn and soak up truth.  It’s SO good for my kids to lead too, they’re doing fantastic and have had so much fun.  I love seeing the new relationships they build with adults and kids alike.  It’s what community is all about!

So....Friday has come around again and it’s a chance for us on the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade to show off some designs for you!  I can hardly stand it waiting for you to see this next release that is coming at the end of the month....but for now this will tide you over!

Today I played with this gorgeous set, Azalea, it remains one of my favourites that Marcy has illustrated.  I gave them some really rich golden tones with Copics and used some older MME paper, Indie Chic.  The sketch is this week’s Mojo Sketch.

Here’s a closeup of the colouring, and below is the inside where I used the inside of the heart border punch as little accents around the sentiment.

Here’s the Copics I used, sorry for the glare on the brown it’s E47.

Now...have you checked?  Were you the Power Poppy Peep of the Week last week?  Would you like to be our next Peep?   Play along in our Anything Goes theme again this week and you could be chosen!  AND that could lead to Power Poppy Prizes!

Here’s the Bloom Brigade giving you inspiration today....be sure to drop by and say hi!

Gorgeous azaleas! Oh, my, love the color of the blooms, and the blue is so nice with it, helping to punch up the color even more. Beautiful card design with those papers and layers, too.

Wowza is this a beauty.. or what? The way you add depth to flowers is just a style all your own and one that is breathtakingly beautiful. I love the richness of color here Ms. Christine! And your layout is divine as well!

That is extremely sweet, esp the inside with the floating hearts you used from the front die cut! And your coloring is ALWAYS superior. Love what you do ♥

Beautiful, love the shading and colors in your flowers, the heart border is a cute touch and like how your shading around the flowers ties in your blue accenting!
We had VBS last week in June, it always tires me out, but like you said the kids all excited is what makes it worth it all!
