Plethora of Peonies

Hello peoples :)

I’m coming to you today as one perfectly tired girl.  We’ve just come through 7 weeks of some of the most demanding times we’ve had in a long time.  Between my husband’s injury, him not being able to drive, four sports, our daughter’s HS graduation, my husband’s brother and sister-in-law and their 5 kids visiting us for 9 days....it all makes for one crazy spring.  I’m hopeful we’re getting close to something more normal pace soon.  We’ve had some really memorable moments and I feel so blessed ...but ready for *stillness*.  We’re down to 3 sports now and our middle son has his Grade 9 grad this weekend but peace is peering over the horizon!

And WOO HOO my husband got his air boot cast off and he can drive again!  Can you hear the heavens singing?  Oh wait, that’s just me.

Between loads of laundry and vacuming and all that other stuff you need to do after 7 extra people have left your home, I decided I just wanted to stamp and colour, as I haven’t done that for what feels like weeks.

So introducing...my plethora of peonies....

I stamped the beautiful, BRAND NEW Dynamic Duos set from Power Poppy from the June Release.  My set hadn’t arrived in time for the reveals, so though I could have used the digis...it was fun to put my hand to polymer again.  I stamped the first bombs (did you know peony blooms are called bombs?) in Memento Gray Flannel and then masked those blooms and stamped several more bombs.

I coloured them with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils to mimic this beautiful Inspiration photo.  It’s a photo print that’s available to purchase.  I just love the combination of peaches and pinks.

It’s all decked out in a Spellbinders Die, Radiant Rectangles, and backed onto some pretty gingham paper from the Bo Bunny Pincushion collection.

I’ve done some finishing with a vellum tag that I sponged, some pearls and some pretty lace in a bow.

Here’s the inside of the design with the peonies stamped in multiple inks to frame the page.  I don’t fuss a lot with the inside of my designs, trying to keep them simple, yet pretty.

And there you have it.  It was good to stamp again.

Thank you for dropping by today.

I absolutely love this, Christine!! Swooning over the vellum tag and your beautifully colored peonies in those delicate hues! Your last few weeks sound very demanding...wishing for you some quiet moments even while you vacume or sort laundry piles! :)

"WOW" is what comes to mind, seeing as how you've left me pretty much speechless. It must have taken a while to color all these peonies, but the results are breathtaking. Love the gingham peeking through the die cut. I'm glad to hear things are settling down. You got through it with grace, Christine!

So pretty, I always think I need to get my whole image inside the die but I really like the way this looks cutting it out like that, glad things are slowing down for you and that your hubby is on the mend and driving again :)

Christine, I agree with Leslie! WOW! What a stunning card, and I did not know they are called "bombs" oh, what a fun term! Beautifully colored (as always), and I love the die you used with the gingham peeking from behind and the beautiful inside too! I love it!! Hugs! (Can't wait to get my PP stuff!)
