Pretty Peonies

I have always had a special place in my garden for peonies.  At our first home in the US midwest we had a number of peony plants, many with double blooms  - they were so beautiful and colourful - I had pink and fuchsia there.  Here at home, as I’ve mentioned before,  I have transplanted my grandma’s peonies.  They are so special to me because I was named after her and she died before I was born.  So, every time I look at them, it’s a little reminder of my heritage.

Today’s Power Poppy peonies are delightful!  Full of fluffy petals which are gorgeous to colour!

I chose to go with a soft and romantic theme with this card.  I cut out the image with a beautiful Spellbinder’s shape Marvelous Squares, backing it onto another Labels shape that I embossed with a lattice folder.   The colouring is really soft with Copics, and it’s all paired with some pretty baby themed paper from Graphic 45.

I’ve added some lovely rose netted ribbon and then made a satin ribbon rose myself to accent.  Here is link to the tutorial for the ribbon rose on my blog too.  It’s easy and makes a pretty and elegant accent.

I trimmed just a part of the sentiment for the outside of the card.  And then the entire sentiment inside as you can see below.

Here’s the Copics I used for the colouring.

Looks like another wonderful image. I love peonies and your card is magnificent. Looks like I have a $5 a day habit. Gotta go order the next digi. Some people spend it at Starbuck's, I prefer investing in my floral image garden. LOL

The first time I laid eyes on this card I fell head over heels in love with it! It is so beautiful, Christine. You achieved the soft and romantic look you were going for and then some! Love that pretty flower sprigged paper in the background and the ribbon flowers. Just gorgeous!

This is so soft and pretty. I really struggle with soft on my cards but am soft spoken and quiet...weird. I too love these flowers. My mom had them in her yard too. What a wonderful tribute to your grandma. I didn't know you lived in the midwest. I grew up in IL. LOVE the midwest. It grows some great flowers.
