A Christmas Topiary

There’s something so lovely about a sculptured topiary tree, especially as an architectural element.  And I love the idea of decorating them for Christmas.  In this beautiful Holiday Topiary set from Flourishes, my favourite tree is this one I’ve used today, but I hadn’t had a chance to work with it yet.  I just love the ribbons on the tree and the lovely round ornaments.

I stamped the image on Flourishes Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then cut the image out with our Flourishes Tailor Made Classic Keyhole die.  I also stamped out a second topiary tree to use for colouring and popping up the ornaments and the ribbon on the image.  I coloured the image up with Copics to match the pretty Echo Park Designer Paper (Reflections Christmas), paired with our Flourishes Color Made Easy - Emerald Coast cardstock.

This week I wanted to join in on the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday team’s Pick a Sketch Challenge, because it looked really fun, and I picked the sketch on the left.

Here you can see the dimension I added by cutting out the tiny ornaments and park of the pretty bow and popping them up.  I also added some white Candi accents onto the horizontal strip and coloured them with the same Copics I used for colouring the image, and then because there was a bow on the Topiary, I added a pretty seambinding bow to the card too.
