Happy Candy

Well here we are on October 29th and it’s my Birthday!  My beloved friends on the Flourishes Teams totally surprised me yesterday with a fun Birthday Hop full of beautiful creations.   There’s a chance for you to win too, so be sure to check it out!  But today, just like last year at this time, besides me turning another year older, I’ve decided to give some blog candy of my own.  It’s my way to say thank you for always stopping by and all the kind words you’ve given me over the year.  I really do love blogging and the wonderful connections it’s given me with many great people.  I am incredibly grateful and blessed.

So to say thank you I have a couple of things I’ll be giving away 2 things to one winner….

Just leave me a comment on this post to enter telling me:  “What’s something you’ve learned about your self since your last birthday?”

One post per person.  Deadline - 10 pm MTN on Saturday November 2nd.  Please leave your email in the comment - it’s my only way to contact you if you’ve won.

I’ll draw a name and post it on Sunday the 3rd!

Ooops, didn't realize your bday was the 29th so Happy Birthday again :)

One thing I've learned about myself since my last one is that a little discipline and recommitment to working out goes a long way to feeling great again. No more excuses and loving the results :)

Happy Belated Christine. The one thing I've learned since last year at this time is to not be so trustworthy I've been burnt more times than I care to remember.

Happy, happy birthday to you.

One thing I have learned from my last Bday is that I now know when it is time to quit. Take quit as retire. Shortly I will have more time for my passion - stamping and colouring

Happy birthday, mine is tomorrow.
The thing I learnt most is that I need to take care of me, nobody else is going to do it for me. I moved away from others so the disappointments are not there. You soon learn who you matter too!

Happy Birthday. The cards the DT made for you are absoulutely gorgeous (I think I used gorgeous and beatuiful a lot to describe them - but they are!). Trust you have received some fab happy mail and they look even better in real life.

Hope you had a terrific day. :)

I think I have learnt it is OK to make mistakes sometimes - that is how we learn and grow.

Have a great birthday and a wonderful year. One thing I've learned since my last birthday is that I really don't need 3 meals a day, 2 is plenty and that helps me maintain a healthier weight.

Happy Birthday! My birthday was at the beginning of the month so it's not a lot of time to learn something new about myself. I'll say I learned that bad habits are easier to break than you would think.

Happy Birthday, Christine! Hope your day is super special!

One thing I've learned about myself since my last birthday is sometimes I just need to change my perspective a little!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I've learned that I need to stop and REALLY listen when the Lord is directing me.

Happy, happy birthday! It was so nice of the team to throw you a surprise party!

One thing I've noticed this past year is that for every lesson that God teaches me, I can see three or four other areas that need change as well. I would like to become more disciplined and grateful this year!

Blessings!

Well lets just put it this way...I've celebrated many decades of birthdays and have had lots of time to ponder life. I think the thing I take away is to remember what is truly important in your life, for me that's my family and friends, everything else is icing on the proverbial cake as they say. So I would say stay focused on what ever it is that grounds you. Sending you wishes for a very Happy Birthday! (PS...I'm a huge fan of your wonderful talent for card making and want to thank you for sharing your gift of creativity with us.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday and God's Blessings in the coming year. My hubby and I are celebrating our 30 year anniversary today, I didn't realize it was the same day as your birthday. I think I have learned in the last year that my age is creeping up to me in my body, I turned 49 and although I feel younger mentally, my body is telling me otherwise :)
Hope you enjoy a great day today!

Happy Happy Birthday! Thanks for the generous birthday giveaway! One thing I've learned, or am starting to learn, is not to let fear stop me. To trust God more, especially when he says "be not afraid". So I am slowly overcoming my fear of failure and rejection and starting to step out of my comfort zone a little more.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!!!;)HOPE your day is turning out FABULOUSLY!!!!!!!:) LOTS OF CAKE & ICE CREAM AND LOADS OF LOVE!!!!!!!!!! :)

Well, your question is one I had to THINK ON!!! :) It REALLY IS a DEEP QUESTION! :) So, after thinking on it, I think the lesson I've learned over the past year (something I've been thinking on for several years now...) & still am, is JUST HOW DEPENDENT we are on God!!! Growing up, I wasn't taken to the doctor much. Then when I had Health Care, I went. NOW, WHO KNOWS what will happen with the Health Care of our country. We are REMINDED JUST HOW DEPENDENT we are ON GOD FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!I am reminded everyday just HOW MUCH I/WE NEED HIM!!! AND how we NEED TO GROW CLOSER TO HIM!!!!!!!! :)He is ALWAYS THERE when men let us down! He is ALWAYS THERE to pick up the pieces! HE is "THE GREAT PHYSICIAN!!!!!!":)

Happy Birthday! You asked what I learned about myself since my last birthday. Well, I learned that although according to the calendar, I might be older in years (72 to be exact) I really don't feel older! In my mind I feel much younger until I look in the mirror, then I scare myself because it isn't me staring back but my mother, God rest her soul)! I think the volunteer work I do for our church and crafting keeps me feeling young and energetic.

Happy Birthday Christine! I just finished the Flourishes Hop and what a nice showing the other ladies put on for you. It hasn't been so long since my last birthday. I started a new job on my birthday and what I have learned is that I am not too old to learn new things. My job is quite a bit different from my last and I am truly loving it. I guess that confirms my thoughts about myself as a lifelong learner.

I hope your day was truly fabulous!

Happy Birthday, Christine! So glad you had a birthday so we could go on that fabulous Flourishes' hop! : ) I hope you had a great day. Hmmm . . . since my last birthday (mine was last month, so I'll speak for the year before) . . .having a perfectly clean house is NOT the most important thing in the world, and you can still have people over without cleaning EVERYTHING! Maybe I'll be able to loosen up a bit more this coming year.

Happy belated birthday! I have learned so much this past year from visiting so many crafty bloggers! I can't just pick one! Probably the most important is that if you don't try something you will never know if you can! :) Nancee

I might not be able to make a card for your birthday contest but wanted to come by and wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I know it was extra special w/a personal blog hop!! Since my last b-day I've learned some disappointments can actually turn out to be a blessing!

Happy Birthday - hope you had a great day!

I've really only been card making seriously this past year and struggled a lot with prioritising - wanting to do the fun stuff but putting off the things I really should be doing. Over the year with prayer (and help from my loving husband and two beautiful girls) I've learnt (again) to keep God first and then family is most important. I still find time to make cards but am careful to not let it "eat" into "family time" :-) Makes for a much happier family :-)

Happy, happy birthday to you!!! Hope your day and entire year is filled with balloons and rainbows.

What have I learned abt myself since last BD.....I am no longer heat-tolerant!!! I roasted this last summer. :o

How lovely of you to let us celebrate with you by offering a party prize!! You did not require us to be followers in order to be eligible (which I GREATLY appreciate!) but I am a brand-new follower of yours by Google Friend, nonetheless. Yippee!!!

Happy belated birthday!
This year I've learned that even though I'd gained back the hundred pounds I lost 7 years ago plus another 10, I can make another lifestyle change and lose it again. There is always hope, and I'm down 65 of those pounds now.

Happy Birthday! One thing that I've learned about myself since my last birthday is that I can't please everybody at the expense of making myself unhappy or stressed. I deserve to be happy too! And I'm learning to come up with ways that pleases me and others too. Compromise is a strong tool!

Thanks for the chance to win this great candy.
Since my last birthday I learned that our health and well being must be a daily priority in our lives.
My DH had a heart attack at 58 and I had back surgery a year ago.

We are both still learning and have learnt that we must make plans and carry through with them to ensure good health.

Happy Birthday, Christine. Time sure does fly by. LOL... Something that I have focused more on, since my last birthday, is volunteering at my local Senior Center. I found that I love sharing my time and talent with our aging seniors. In January, I am starting a free stamping classes, for those who want to play. lol. Time is a gift not to be wasted, so I am thankful for each birthday I am blessed with and the wisdom that comes my way. Happy Birthday.
