Five Senses for World Card Making Day!

Welcome to World Card Making Day!  How great is it to have a day set aside to celebrate this beautiful art of ours!  And we have a very fun challenge for you today at Flourishes...

Use all five senses to make a creation. Use vibrant color to be a "sight" for the eyes. Use something sweet to eat (food images or embellishments) to pique that sense of smell and taste. Use texture to satisfy that sense of touch or use something noisy - die cut machine, punches, eyelets, embossing to use your sense of hearing in the process.  If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCWCMD12.

Here's where I went with the Challenge....

I pulled out the very festive fall set Apple of My Eye and used the apple cider image for the challenge. I thought it would be perfect!  Stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with prismacolors for a soft warm feel.  I wanted to get the feel of the transparent glass, with the color of the cider showing through.  Here's the Five Senses on my card....
  • Sight- the rich warm colors
  • Sound - I cranked out the die cut shapes using Flourishes Classic Bookplate design and the leaves from felt, as well as the Classic Edges - Postage Edgeabilities.
  • Smell - apple cider!  And the cork I used smells really fresh too.  I love the smell of cork.
  • Taste - :) Cider again, YUM.
  • Touch - the use of felt, cork, ivory jute twine, the MME Rosy button and acorn buttons, and the look of woodgrain on the designer paper (MME - Reunion), and the embossing on the circle behind the cider image.

Be sure to check these Design Team Girls also playing in the WCMD Challenge Today!  Then come and play along with us!

Now go make something to celebrate! :)
