Party by Silhouette

We had a friend Birthday party tonight for our youngest son.  It was a little bit belated since his Birthday was in early August, but at the time, we had just come back from Mexico City and the Missions Trip and we were exhausted.  So, tonight it was finally party time!

And now that I have this fancy new tool in the Silhouette Cameo, I found all kinds of cool things I could do for his party, so I thought I'd show you what I did...

Here were some of the party decorations....some cupcake toppers in his favourite color of yellow... (I used brownie icing on the cupcakes...yum they were good!)

A simple banner I made with the middle medallion from the Silhouette, and then the pennants with Spellbinders dies.

These were treat boxes.  And they are my favourite thing I made for the party!  Aren't they just the cutest monsters?!  In the Silhouette store they use these boxes for cupcake holders (and there's a piece included to set the cupcake in), but I wanted to use them for treat boxes.  They just make me smile!  Normally they would be open in front so you could reach in for your cupcake, but I added clear cardstock in front to enclose the mouth as a box, and still make it see-through.

Seriously cute right?  I put bows on the boxes for the girls, and I love the arms reaching out too.

And then for a craft at the party we made masks that I had cut with the Silhouette too.  They turned out great and the kids really had fun making them.  From left to right it's a frog, panda, fox, cat and crocodile.

I haven't had that much fun creating for a party in a long time!  It's like a whole new creative world.  While the Silhouette is an investment for sure, the possibilities were so great and the files are so inexpensive.  We had a very pulled together party for the cost of 99 cent files and paper. And best of all my beloved 9 year old had a wonderful time.

Thanks for joining me today.
