Back to School - Giveaway Week

Happy Labour Day Canadians and and Americans!  OH the day is coming....Tuesday brings school here.  There is both excitement and dreading in our house :)  The older the child, the greater proportion of dread to excitement.  LOL!

I'm back with Day Two of my Giveaway week and today I thought I'd start by pulling out a little school-themed creation I made.  I have many friends who have little ones just starting school, a Kindergartener or 1st Grader.  Such a precious stage.  I talked to one of the beginning First Graders today about what she was excited about, having more recesses, and her own desk and school supplies hit the top two, but leaving Mom at home was a bit sad for her :)

This is a very cute SU set, Greeting Card Kids, and I've paired it with some Fancy Pants Papers - Off to School, colouring with Copics, a strip embossed with a PTI Impression Plate, and Jen's SFYTT for September!

Close-up of the Colouring...BG11, BG13, BG15, R27, R29, R39, E00, E21, E31, E33, Y11, Y23, W2. W3, W5.

And now to the giveaway!

If you remember a few weeks ago I talked about taking a few days to organize my "stuff" and I went through all my papers.  When I was a SU demo 4-ish years ago, it made sense to have lots of 12 x 12 paper because I was always using it for classes.  But now, it's just too much paper, and I'll never use all of it, so I've cut down these papers and scraps to 6 x 6 sizes and am ready to give it away!  There is a great selection here....

I have enough for probably 5 or 6 people to have several bunches of papers, like getting several 6 x 6 pads of your own.  I'll try to keep "like papers" together in bunches.

So...leave a comment telling me:

"What does September bring to you this year?  Anything new, exciting, nerve wracking, difficult or joyous?"

I'll draw 5 or 6 random comments Wednesday at 10 PM MTN time.  You'll have 48 hours to get me your snail mail address.

One entry per person please.  But please pass the word around, I'm happy to give these lovely papers new homes.

What a pretty card! I love it! I'm looking forward to cooler days and having my grandson come every morning to have breakfast with us before we take him to school. He just turned five and is a wonderful, loving little boy who's full of a child's wisdom and wonder.

Kindergarten seems so long ago...they grow up too quickly!!

September brings the onset of a ramped up schedule. Kind of like going from 1 to 100 in one day LOL! I have post it notes on the microwave so I make sure the right kid is at the right place at the right time LOL!

We have some added stress in that both the grade teachers left our school last year (they were both amazing) so we have no clue who my son will get and what type of teacher they are! My daughter will enter year two of high school and based on her experience last year she is nervous. Murphy's Law, they put her in the wrong art class and she has the worst French teacher in the school so we have to see if we can make any changes on Tuesday. No doubt there will be some tears and long talks with her over the next two weeks as she settles in.

Upside - looooove fall colours and the maple trees out here are fabulous :)

I would gladly give some of these papers a home to use with my local U3A group card class I volunteer tutor-September is my Birthday month and the start of spring in Australia. Nothing new this year yet but that could change, i have a couple of grandchildrens birthdays and it would have been my dads 95th birthday and my mums 96th but I lost my dad in 1989 and my mum in 2007 gee I miss them both

What a fun card!!!

Normally Sept brings cooler temps for us, but this week is still supposed to be 100*+.

Sept this year will be bringing change for our family. Some good, some stressful, but we'll make it as much of an adventure as we possibly can.

Ooooh, paper, paper, paper! I'm still learning how to use papers as backgrounds and how to layer them ~ your cards are a big help to me; so lovely! Good luck with the back-to-school morning . . . don't forget to take lots of pictures : )

Good Morning Christine:
What a darling card - such sweet children and lovely colors.
September brings a new year of learning for all ages - an exciting time - especially reading at a different level for small children and reading at a more leisurely level for older people. You always learn in all words that you read.
Hope your school children enjoy their year.

What a cute card! I am a Stampin Up! demo now, and those papers intrigue me. I love to see what some of their "older stuff" looked like, because I've only been a demon for a year and a half. But... you asked what Sept brings for me. HOPEFULLY cooler weather! I live in Arizona (for the last 10 years) and moved here to finally get away from all the cold and snow. Now, I'm ready to have cooler weather, although sometimes that doesn't happen until October. It's been unusually hot and humid this year, and although we love the rain, the humidity is a killer when it's so hot. But, most of all, I am IN LOVE with the Fall colors.. so my stamping takes on a different "tone" with Halloween, Fall and Christmas colors. It's my favorite time of the year and I love to make cards now more than ever!

I was just thinking that it is school time again, and amazed that I won't be homeschooling this year since my youngest just entered the local Tech School this fall. So... September will be a month of revamping my schedule and working to get the GraceWorks' web store upgraded -- with a little stamping fit in the chunks of time I have left. : )

Sweet Card!!!! I was hoping that September would bring some cooler temperateness!! But, still in the high 80's here in Michigan. I am looking forward to getting some mums to replace some of the summer flowers that have faded. The papers look yummy!!

Your school themed card is just precious! I am looking forward to cooler weather to organized my "stamping space" in a tiny apartment I just moved into. It will be a challenge, but necessary to have my stamping supplies handy for card making. I could certainly find a space for your beautiful papers! Thank you for the opportunity.

What a sweet card card. Love these cute kids heading off to their first day of school. Your colours and papers are gorgeous.
How generous of you to share your paper. SU paper is always so beautiful. September for me always brings a sadness that summer is drawing to a close. This year it brings some excitement as I try a new little venture which I'm seeking God's leading in. It also brings a return to a busy schedule which has been very relaxed during the summer. It's all good though:)

September brings my baby's last year of high school - exciting for her and a bit bittersweet for me! I do not know where the time has gone - seems like she was just entering Kindergarten!
I could put these papers to use scrapbooking her last year of high school - thanks for the opportunity!

Such a cheerful card! Love it. This year September brings news that I need some surgery. It's not an emergency so nothing to worry about just trying to get an appointment as there are long wait times here. I've never had any surgery before so I'm a little nervous but I'm sure it will be fine.

This year, September is going to be abput organization. I don't have a big house and my stamping area is my dining room! LOL so this year, I am going to organize and purge and hope that makes life easier! -Mary R.

Somehow my comment did not appear last time. My son started kindergarten this year, so I am now getting used to an empty house during the day. I hope to find time for myself to get back to crafting!
