Some Farm Fresh Goodness

Hello everyone...been away for a few days from the blog getting some things done around here.  We've been landscaping in our front yard where we took out a 30 foot tree.  Now it has the start of a raised flower bed with a light-stand in the middle, and I'll plant some bushes and hopefully some roses in the bed.  I think it will be pretty.  Then we've been busy as a family, our daughter is in summer school getting a head start on a course from High School, and the boys are bike riding, playing football and driving me nutty with Nerf dart gun fights all around the house! And we did see Cars 2 in 3D the other day  :)  Now that the kids are home from school I'm finding it challenging to get much work done!  Job or creative! :)

Today begins a New Release Challenge at Flourishes which is perfecto for summer... here's how it goes:

Not long from now, juicy and fresh produce will start to sprout and find its way to farmer's markets in every corner of America. Let's capture some farm freshness on our cards or creations. Use fruit or veggies as a focus! FLLCJUL11. Deadline is July 15th at 5 PM Eastern.

Now these gorgeous fruit don't grow in our neck of the woods, but I think they are stunning - and so tasty too!  I colored them with Copics in the Lenten Rose Collection (+ R89) and the Holly Collection

Then I used a whole lot of texture to create the elegant feel to the card using Flourishes Classic Ivory paper with the Martha Stewart Rings Border punch, two embossing folders, as well as Parisian Accents and Fancy Tags Two, and some Finishing Touches brads, and them some beautiful ribbon, Ivory Crochet and some pretty pleated satin.  Along with cutting the main image with Labels Fourteen and Sixteen.

So please join us on this challenge, here's the link for the Flourishes blog!  For some more beautiful Farm Fresh Goodness Inspiration please check out the rest of the Design Team....

and Sharon Doolittle is joining us today too!

What a beautiful card! I love the coloring and all of the texture! Also, I like your new hair style - it really shows off your eyes! Plus, it must be cooler for summer, than the longer hair. Great look and you did it for a good cause as well!

What a BEAUTY, Christine! I love this challenge. I hope I'll have time to play. I'm with you on the "hard to get work done during the summer" thing. Me, too!

Gorgeous Christine!! I love the mostly white with a pop of color look you've got going here! And... I hear you on the kiddos being home and really livening the place up! :-) Nerf guns might be my answer!! You rile things up in my office -- I Nerf gun you! HA!! (Then I'd never get anything done!)

Gorgeous Christine, your colors are awesome. I really like the lattice framing along the sides.
I am with you and the nerf darts around thehouse. I think we own every nerf out on the market, makes for fun most of the time. ha ha

we don't have kids living at the house anymore and I find it challenging to find the time to craft in the summer, just too much going on. Love the elegant touch you brought to this stamp and such pretty coloring too!

This is a beautiful card. All the embossing, die cuts, and border punches give it a lot of texture. I especially like the embossing on the cranberry layer. It showcases the pomegranates perfectly.
