Such Sweet Peas

It rained here today...really very unusual for January in northern Alberta....it was +7 (Celcius) and it sounded and smelled like spring....all with at least 3 feet of snow on the ground!   Of course when it freezes we have a skating rink :)

I thought I'd do something spring-like tonight.  When I was guest designing for There She Goes I picked up this Sweet Peas set  right away and yet hadn't given it life in ink yet!  I love the long lines in the design of the stamp.

I colored up the sweet peas with Copic Markers (R00, R01, R02, R14, using YG91 for the stems and then T1, W00, W2 for the pointillism background shading).  As you'll see on the next picture I popped up some of the petals.

This paper is beautiful....the picture doesn't do it justice, it's SEI Claire and many of the pages are foiled in design so they have a metallic touch...boy does it look gorgeous.  I thought the metallic velvet ribbon really suited the metallic in the paper and matched perfectly.   This is also TSG's challenge for the week - a sketch (TSG91).

And here's a closeup so you can see the popped up petals.

I love how a simple thing like that gives life to the design.

Alright gang ....back tomorrow with a Flourishes Friday design.  I'm also working on baby designs here behind the scenes for some ideas for my new nephew's Thank You cards.  So you can probably expect some of that next week!

Stamps:  There She Goes - Sweet Peas;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Whisper White, Flourishes Classic White, SEI Claire DP;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Beaded Circles Nestabilities, Quilted Edge Martha Stewart Punch, Metallic Velvet Ribbon, Dimensionals, Copic Markers, Piercer.
