The Drama of Black

So, I seem to be in a bit of a black kick right now.  It doesn't happen often, but there are times I'm drawn to the drama that black provides in it's contrast to other colors.  It really anchors a design and sharpens it too.  As I was looking in my designer papers for this card I was drawn to my Capella pack from Basic Grey with all it's pretty and elegant patterns ...and all this black.

The There She Goes Challenge this week is about using embossing with ink and embossing powders.  So, I pulled out some black on black to emboss and the lovely Garden of Friends set from TSG.  I really love this stamp company and had the best time designing for them the last few months.

After embossing the Hydrangea blooms onto the black cardstock, I then embossed the hydrangea and leaves again on watercolor paper and then watercolored with my Stampin' Write Markers, cutting them out and then popping them up on a Lacey Circle Nestie, where I had curved the sentiment to round the circle.  This is also the Mojo Sketch for the week.

Here's a little closeup....can you see the black on black embossing?

A little taffeta bow in this pretty Mossy green and some beautiful Prima Say it in Pearls because they matched so nicely and it's complete!

Stamps:  TSG - Garden of Friends;  Ink:  VersaMark, Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Basic Grey Capella DP, Watercolor paper;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Lacey Circles Nestabilities, Stampin' Write Markers, waterbrush, Dimensionals, Say it With Pearls Swirls, Black Detail Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon.
