Cinnamon Hearts and Roses

It's another Flourishes Friday and we Design Team girls are delighted to show you some pretties today.  I'm going very much in a Valentine's theme with something I haven't shown you yet from the New Release last week, and thinking of my beloved.  He loves those little cinnamon hearts or red hots as they're sometimes called, so I made this project for him.  If you want to be surprised sweetie - avert your eyes!  Oh...and you can click on any pictures to make them larger if you like!

I made a gift set centered around the gorgeous rose hearts from the new set Hearts and Flowers.  It's just such a lovely dreamy set.

Below is actually where I began....a pair of copic colored rose hearts and an empty tin of Tazo Tea.  I'll go next to the cards and come back to the tin....

I took that theme of two hearts together (me and my hubbie :))  into the card setting them together in this inset frame created by the Lacey Circles cut out that I also embossed with the SU! Manhattan Roses embossing folder.  The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  Lots of space to write some tender lovey-stuff inside :)

Lovely heart pearls to accent it as well as some chenille dotted ribbon and white silk.

Funny story......the sentiment reads "Je taime" which in French is I love you....but he'll laugh about it because he's an American by birth and French is as foreign to him as any language.  But for me, growing  up here in Canada though English is primarily all you hear, you're exposed to enough French (I call my French - Sesame Street French - what I heard on Sesame Street growing up! LOL)....so you pick up some here and there.  Our middle son is taking French now and we always tease that my husband can't help him with his homework, he can't pronounce a THING.  It's quite funny when he tries too.

Ok, back to the tin and cinnamon hearts that will go inside....

I covered the tin with some old SU paper that I had also overstamped with the Rose Hearts in White Craft ink.  It's such a pretty detailed stamp it can stand on it's own in just ink.   I adhered it to the tin with Scor Tape.  It is my favourite sticky adhesive.  It is far superior to Red Line Sticky tape, it just holds so much better and attaches better PLUS you can just rip it off the roll rather than cutting it if you want too.  Flourishes sells it in 3 widths.    Then as you can see I added some of that luxurious chenille dot ribbon to hide the seams (with Scor Tape too).  And then decorated the top of the tin.  Super simple, but with those hearts...gorgeous impact.

And finally, I packaged up a whole bunch of cinnamon hearts into a cello bag and tied it up and added this pretty tag to it.  Just stamped with the hearts in red and then a little embellishing on top.

The detailing on the bottom of the tag is from the Spellbinders Labels 14 Nestie, and the glittery white ribbon is Metallic Velvet here in the store.

So, that's a pretty Valentine project checked off my list.  I'm so excited to give it to him, he might get it early :)

Now remember TODAY is the LAST DAY you can purchase the Flourishes New Release Bundle at a discount!  It really is fabulous!

Head on over to rest of the Design Team to see their fabulous Flourishes Friday projects!
on that note......All of us girls want to say a fond farewell to Laura Fredrickson who's moving to the Bring Back Beautiful Team at Flourishes.  I've worked with Laura on different teams for 3 years and she'll be greatly missed for her beautiful designs, and being a great team-mate.  Blessings Laura!

And we have a big hearty welcome to a great lady taking Laura's place, Barbara Anders moving over to the Senior Design Team from the Friends of Flourishes Team.  I know you'll continue to love her designs!
