Make it Manly Man Challenge

Well, we didn't lose the 6 inches of snow we received yet...but I think my tulips and lupine and delphinium will survive.  Crazy to have Spring weather, then Winter weather....and hopefully spring again soon too!

manly

Here we are again at the Flourishes Pre-Release Challenge!  And I just have to say, that you won't want to miss the sneak peeks next week (Wednesday through Friday).  It is going to be an amazing release!  You will LOVE these new sets.  All the sets are just wonderful and one we're releasing might vie for my new favourite Flourishes Stamp Set EVER!

So, I've created a masculine card that celebrates those special moments and has a touch of spring growth to it.  I've used the leaves and acorns from the Falling Leaves set, using the Spring Greens Collection (YG00, 03, 05, 06) and Flesh Tones for the acorns, with a touch of YG00 to make them look more spring like.  I sponged this with Tim Holtz Distress ink to warm it up too.

Otherwise the dseign is simple.  I think that simple works well with masculine cards.  I have a more boxy layout and my embellishments are limited to brads and the loop trim with no bow.

So, now we're inviting you into the challenge:  As we get ready to honor the fathers in our lives, let’s challenge each other to think outside the box when it comes to “man cards” While the winner of this challenge will be drawn at random, a second winner will be chosen based on just how creative they got with the entry. Can flowers be masculine? Can an image be used in a way that wasn’t intended? Show us what you’ve got!

You could walk away with all four stamps in Flourishes’ May release! You have until Friday, May 14th at 5 PM EST to enter for your chance to win. Use Flourishes stamps if you have them but if you don’t, please play along anyway. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCMAY10. Keep in mind, in order to be eligible, you need to link your creation at the Flourishes Blog using the inlinkz linky. Good luck! We can’t wait to see your manly man cards/creations!

Here's the links to the girls who are getting masculine today too:  Dawn Burnworth, Stacy Morgan, Cindy Lawrence, Laura Fredrickson, and Leslie Miller, and Danielle has a Flourishes non-masuline beauty for you to behold too.

You make the most beautiful masculine cards, Christine! This really appeals to the outdoor-loving side of me. I'm fond of all things nature inspired. Love your stamping of the leaves on the designer paper. The sponging adds so much warmth, too.
