A Whale of a Day

Well, it's a beautiful morning...almost afternoon here. Our daughter has 2 of her best friends over for a sleepover, our sons are at Grandma and Grandpa's for a sleepover, my sweetheart is at work, the house is clean and the laundry is almost finished, so I had time to stamp!

There was a fun challenge at SCS today, it's the Ways to Use it Challenge, and Sherrie challenged us to use office supplies on our card.
I'm sort of on a Birthday card kick this week, so I created a masculine or boy kind of birthday card.

Isn't this whale so cute? And I really like the richness of this color combination. I pieced the water spout in Night of Navy, and added the swirl with my Scribbles Swirl Sizzlit. I created my own *designer* paper but stamping the whales in white and navy on the vertical strip.

My office supplies are staples holding the ribbon ruffles together (almost like sea foam don't you think?), and then added a mini paper clip to the sentiment. A little bit of distressing to the paper gives it a bit of a masculine feel too.

I'll be back tomorrow with something beautiful...something interesting....and something wonderful for YOU!

Recipe: Stamps: Animal Stories; So Many Sayings; Ink: Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Craft White; Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Soft Suede Patterns DSP; Accessories: Big Shot, Scribble Sizzlit, Ovals Bigz Die, Staples, Satin Ribbon, Silver Brads, Mini Paper Clips, Oval Punches, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

Great card. I like how you created your own BG paper and the staples on the ribbon are quite clever.

This is soooo cute, Christine...and I love what you've done with the ribbon!! I also love the gorgeous card above this one (the tree with the flower soft).

The ribbon around the lower edge of thecircle is a cute idea. And the swirl for the wave is perfect.
