The Last Hurrah

I've been a little out of blogging commission this last week. All sorts of reasons, relatives here from Germany (that was really fun); our oldest son turned 10 and we had parties...and baby showers... sometimes its good to concentrate solely on the world out there, rather than what's in my stamping world :)

I know the buzz out there right now is big on what's coming in the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue, you might have even seen some sneak peeks in the Blogosphere. But until my new order comes, hopefully some time next week, I wanted to give a little Last Hurrah to some of my sets that are retiring this year. So, in the next little while, all my SU creations will be from the Last Chance List. (see link for stamps and accessories saying goodbye this year).

Happy Doodles

Remember when Doodle This and Doodle That came out? They were so unique and different I had to have them. I love the whimsical look to this set. So, using this weeks' Color Challenge Colors and this weeks' Sketch Challenge, I came up with this little number.

I had the idea to use the dots in the design to show the color behind the layers, so on each of the little dots I used my 1/16 hole punch so the black shows through the panels. On the main image I also used the 1/2 circle punch. I used the larger flower petals as leaves for the smaller flower. It's sweet and simple, but the colors really give it pop.

Recipe: Stamps: Doodle This, Hugs and Wishes; Ink: Basic Black; Paper: Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black; Accessories: Spiral punch, 1/16" punch, 1/2 circle punch, Dimensionals, Dress Up Ribbon Originals.
