Toonie Tuesday - Lily ATC to Card

Well, I had so much fun the other day making an ATC into a card, I decided to do it again!
Today's color challenge is Rose Red, Always Artichoke, and Basic Black, lovely dramatic colors.

I'll start with the ATC:

I watercolored the lily from the Fifth Avenue set, then trimmed it out. I just love the classy look to these flowers. I added a stem on another piece of watercolor paper that had been sponged well with Rose Red to give it a pretty glow and then kept the feel of the vertical lines with some designer paper accents on each side. Some black brads for more drama and then some pretty retired Artichoke organdy ribbon for accent. I like the look of the ATC standing on it's own so I added the tiny word *kind* on the cut oval.

Then here is how it progressed into a card.

I gave it some extra shape by added the Top Note die as accent, matching the Designer paper to the Texturz folder on the Artichoke layer and then adding more brads, some pretty Pomegranate Satin ribbon and a little piercing to emphasize the shapes.

Sentiment is from the SAB set Botanical Blooms. I'm going to be giving this to my sweet sister-in-law who just had their daughter last week. They are in the midst of the hectic and exhausting adjustments of being new parents and figuring out feeding with my niece. She needs a little encouragement that she's doing a good job as a new mom.

Recipe: Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Botanical Blooms; Ink: Black Stazon, Always Artichoke, Rose Red; Paper: Watercolor, Basic Black, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, AA Prints DSP, RR Prints DSP (retired); Accessories: Aqua Painter, Reinkers, Black Brads, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Texturz Plate, Dimensionals, Artichoke Organdy Ribbon, Pomegranate Satin Ribbon, Piercer.

What a treat to see the ATC made into a card! Beautiful coloring---that stamp set is on my wish list! It is a little out of my comfort zone-style, but I love everything I have seen with it!
