Feather Inspiration

It’s all about color at Flourishes today and the Flourishes DT wants to challenge you to look at everyday objects in a whole new way. This week, it's the colorful beauty of a peacock feather. You simply have to look at the colors and somehow be inspired by them in your card or creation! Click HERE for all the official details! You should know, if you play along, there are prizes on the line! The winner of the random drawing will win all three of our new releases that will be unveiled a week from today! (and oh MY are they GORGEOUS!! ) Simply leave a comment on the challenge post over on the Flourishes Newsletter or upload to Splitcoast using the keyword FLLCFEB. We hope you make time to play!

Here's our inspiration photo

And here is what I created! I used the Magnolia flowers from the Lilac stamp set, masked and embossed it with Copper Embossing powder. Then I gave it some pretty turquoises and lime greens, and a light green wash, then added satin ribbon and copper cording. See the cute little ladybug on the sentiment?

And....here's some other great news from Flourishes....We have a new employee over at Flourishes - her name is Sophie...and here's what she had to say yesterday...

"My friends tell me I have such a good sense of color and design. I convinced the 3 flourishes that I would like to share that with you, so we have worked out a deal that for you! Twice a month they will let me offer a Sophie Special. How Cool Is That!?!?! My own special just for you!

Here is what I am going to do for you - I will go through the inventory and match up the best combo of inks, paper, ribbons and accessories for you...and you get to have it as a package deal. Each special will run for two weeks only - so if you want them you'd better shop early!"

Remember if you're inspired by anything I make and you make a purchase at Flourishes if you put my name and last initial christineo in the promotion code box at checkout, they're kind enough to give me a little bonus!

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team's creations too: Faith Hofrichter, Cindy Lawrence, Latisha Yoast, Leslie Miller, Julie Koerber, Laura Fredrickson and Stacy Morgan

Recipe: Stamps: Flourishes - Lilac, Poppy Patch; Ink: VersaMark, Tempting Turquoise; Paper: Copper Metallic, Tempting Turquoise, K & Co DSP, Watercolor; Accessories: Reinkers, SW Markers, Copper EP, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Copper Cording, Copper Brads, Oval Punches
