Simply Prayers

Today's Limited Supply Challenge at SCS was to make a CAS card - (Clean and Simple). It generally means limited layers, simple embellishments, very clean look. And if you know me you know that's a huge challenge for me!

But...I received a whole box FULL of brand new goodies from SU :) so I thought I'd ink up this beautiful new set and try it out.

Here the tree is embossed in Winter White EP and then Baja Breeze is sponged around it. The sentiment is popped up and I added some simple ribbon treatment. It's so hard for me because I look at that tree and think "gasp...it's nekkid!" (lol). Well, ok, I do like the simplicity of the design, and I think it's eye-catching, just out of my comfort zone!

We had a candle lit family dinner last night with our kids. It was fun, we had roast and potatoes and gravy, and vegetables and bread with oil and balsalmic vinegar. We dimmed the lights and had sparkling apple juice - for no reason at all! But it was fun and they loved it. My daughter said "I love that we always have meals together". A good word to hear :) Sometimes, simplicity that celebrates is a good thing.

Have a great Friday!

Recipe: Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers; Ink: VersaMark, Baja Breeze; Paper: Whisper White; Accessories: Sponge, Embossing Powder, Key Tab Punch, Wide Grosgrain, White Taffeta Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware.

Great idea about the candle night special dinner for no reason at all. Might have to try it. Oh and I love the card very blue... my favourite. :-)

This is beautiful, Christine! One of the prettiest sets in the new catalog, I think. It's so nice to hear about your family dinner. Even though I've always been a working Mom, my son never left for school without a hot breakfast. And we had a home cooked meal at the dining room table every night. Many of the young women I work with don't cook for their families at all. I guess we all do what fits, or we manage to squeeze in what's important to us.
