Boy Oh Boy! World Card Making Day

Well....here we are and it's Saturday...and I said I'd be back on Friday (sorry :( ) Life just has a way of getting in the way of stuff! Actually I do want to show you the cards for my last class, but I also want to do a bit of a tutorial on one of them...so that will have to wait till next week.

BUT! I did get to stamp today...our 5 year old is going to a friend's birthday party tomorrow and I needed a very boy card. Hmm, I realize that I don't have as many boy or masculine stamps as I should, so I pulled out this retired By Air set that is one of my few boyish ones. This little guy loves things with wheels so I thought this whirlybird in argyle's would suit him. (he has a very Irish/Scottish sort of name too).

In honor of Word Card Making Day I did one of the SCS WCMD challenges to case SherryLC05's gallery and I chose this card HERE: I kept the basic layout and feel of the stripes. But changed the stamp set, papers etc.

I stamped the helicopter 3 x in Garden Green, Night of Navy and Basic Gray, then pieced it together in parts and added it onto the DP (all Prestwick DSP). I added the brads as accent. The clouds were all done with White Craft on the DSP and embossed with Winter White and trimmed out.

Sentiment is the old Circle of Friendships and I distressed a bit of the edges on the circle and popped it up.

We're off to the football game CFL - the Canadian Football League. I'm not a big football fan...but it's a family night for us, the kids are SO excited.

Recipe: Stamps: By Air, Circle of Friendship Paper: Night of Navy, Basic Gray, Garden Green, Whisper White, Prestwick DSP Ink: Whisper White Craft, Night of Navy, Garden Green, Basic Gray Access: Brads, Circle Punch, White EP, Dimensionals

This is absolutely adorable Christine! I know this card made a little boy very happy and I bet Noah was grinning from ear-to-ear when he presented it to his friend knowing his Mom made it especially for him. I can just see his face glowing with pride!
